Wide Range of Materials

We pride ourselves on the range of materials that we trade. This includes plastic films, bottles, trays, rigid plastics, bulk bags, compressed polystyrene, regrind, production scrap and lump or purge waste. Whether it is a single trailer loaded with 4 different grades of plastic film, or a shipment of 20 container loads of PET bottles, we are confident we can solve plastic recycling challenges for suppliers and customers around the world.

Plastic Bottle Grades

Plastic bottles are amongst the most widely recycled type of plastic in the UK. However many recycling operations produce an almost unique grade of bottles, depending on the infeed material and the types of sorting utilised at the site.

Plastic bottles can be recovered from commercial and industrial sources although volumes tend to be much lower than postconsumer bottles from household recycling. Examples of post-industrial bottles include excess production volumes of unused drinks bottles, bottles from a filling plant, and unsold bottles fed into a product destruction unit.

Most recovered plastic bottles come from household recycling, with almost every house in the UK having a wheelie bin or a crate to collect recyclables including plastics. Due to the fact that different Councils ask residents to recycle different ranges of plastic, and different Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) operate different sorting processes, the range of single stream and mixed bottle grades generated across the country is massive. Grades that we handle include, sorted HDPE milk bottles, sorted PET drinks bottles, mixed HDPE and PET bottles, and plastic grades containing mixed bottles, pots, tubs and trays.

Plastic Film Grades

The range of plastic films generated in the UK is probably even greater than different bottle grades. The most common plastic polymer used in packaging films is Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), although some film grades are HDPE, some are Polypropylene (PP) and others are PET. Other films are made up of layers of different polymers laminated together - although these are much more difficult to recycle.

Most plastic films that we handle are sourced from commercial and industrial sources. Examples of films from these generators are shrink wrap, pallet wrapping, and plastic packaging used for importing different goods into warehouses. Some film grades are recovered from supermarket and retail operations where plastic packaging is collected in the store and backloaded to distribution centres for bulking up.

Packaging films are routinely recovered from household recycling, however these grades tend to contain many different types of plastic, and are often contaminated with food residue and other materials.

Rigid Plastics and Other Grades

We handle a full range of other forms of plastic, including different grades of rigid plastic. These tend to originate from commercial and industrial sources and include briquetted or compacted Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), PP Bags, clean drums, used pipes and disused pallets and crates. Different rigid plastic products can be made from HDPE, PP, Polystyrene (PS) and other polymers.

We can handle a full load of material all made from the same polymer, or we can handle split loads where different grades and plastics are loaded separately onto the same trailer.

Pellets, Flake and Regrind

Much of the plastic we handle is collected from recycling companies that don’t have reprocessing equipment to convert the material into a product that can be used by a manufacturer, which is why we deliver these grades to specialist reprocessors that make new products from the waste

However we also work with UK reprocessors, where they make new products, including pellets, flakes and regrinds. Some of these are confirmed to have reached “end of waste” status and can be sold as a final product, while others are only part-processed and need to be consigned to another plant for final reprocessing into a non-waste product.

We handle a full range of pellets, flake and regrind grades, buying from various UK reprocessors and on-selling to different customers in the UK, EU and across the world. These include materials such as PET Flake, HDPE Wheelie Bin regrind, PP Crate regrind and LDPE Pellets.

  • We believe in sustainable trading – and a key factor in sustainable trading is making sure that the business can be repeated in the future. This can only be achieved by suppliers having certainty over where and how their material is being reprocessed, and by our reprocessor customers having confidence that the materials have been quality checked before dispatch.

We maintain a schedule of site inspections where we visit supplier sites to inspect and sample materials to ensure quality specifications are met. We also only sell materials to customers on our approved reprocessor list who can provide up-to-date copies of environmental licences, import permits as well as meeting our other compliance requirements.

What Next?

If you are a plastic reprocessor and are interested in receiving quality-checked materials from us, then please contact us to start the discussion on what grades you are interested in and how to join our approved reprocessor list to receive regular offers.

If you generate plastic waste and want to know if its is recyclable and the value of your waste, then please contact us for a material assessment or to arrange a site visit to assess your products.

Our Services

Suppliers

We purchase plastics, fibre, metals and glass products from UK sites, helping suppliers meet quality standards and paying premium prices for products.  Our compliance system gives suppliers peace of mind that their products are recycled at licenced reprocessors.

Customers

From our network of UK suppliers, we procure specific products and qualities for each of our customers – whether they are based in the UK, mainland Europe or further afield in India, USA or the Far East.  Our inspection processes ensure that customers have confidence that they will receive the products and quality that they ordered.

Logistics & Export Documentation Services

Some suppliers and customers prefer to deal direct with each other, but need specialist assistance on transport and shipping, arranging export documentation, loading and pre-loading inspections and environmental compliance.

Products We Trade
